Charles has been playing music from a very young age. He started with the keyboard as a student and gradually moved on to the trombone. Over the years, Charles has been a part of and performed in various ensembles, groups, orchestras, and choirs as well as hosting numerous radio shows on local and national radio. Charles' primary focus is the guitar, which he has been playing for over a decade. He studied for a 2 year certificate in Music Practice before going on to graduate with a degree in Music Composition from Coventry University, specialising in Education.

He is interested in and plays many different styles of music, from folk, blues, rock, and country music to jazz and classical. He is particularly passionate about composition, harmony and improvisation.

Charles founded InTune Guitar Lessons in 2019 and has been working as a full time guitar and music theory teacher since then.  He has worked with young children, retired people and everyone in between. He is enthusiastic about helping students learn and believes that music is something that can be taught to anyone who is willing to learn. Charles teaches acoustic and electric guitar, as well as teaching theory, improvisation and composition, in both English and French.

Jason Kavanagh

Jason Kavanagh joined the InTune team in February 2021. Jason is an experienced and versatile musician and has been playing guitar for over fifteen years. He studied Music at Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU), focussing on Music Composition and received an award for achieving the highest grade in his class that year. After graduating in 2015, Jason went on to complete a Masters in Musical Composition the following year at CCCU.

After completing his studies, Jason focused his attention on live performance in and around the London area in the UK. As a session musician, Jason has performed in a variety of settings including function events, festivals, jazz ensembles, jazz big bands as well as featuring in musical theatre ensembles, hosting jam sessions, and working with numerous singers as an accompanying guitarist.

Jason is a passionate and enthusiastic musician, having dedicated much of the last decade to playing guitar.  He is an accomplished blues, jazz and classical guitarist with particular focus on bossa nova and samba styles. He has considerable experience with improvisation, be it in the context of jazz or other styles. In addition to this, Jason can help students with general guitar technique, posture, and practice plans and schedules, as well as ensuring the whole process is fun and enjoyable. He is also experienced with music theory and teaches guitar via both notation and tablature. Jason teaches one-to-one lessons as well as group lessons, in both English and French.
